| Why Dan? |
1. Board Members need to identify areas where
improvements can be made, whether in test scores, quality
improvement plans or back-room support. As a Board
Member, I will fight to ensure that our schools and teachers
have what they need to educate our children.
2. I will work with other Board Members, school
administrators and faculty to determine the most efficient
and cost effective way to allocate our limited resources so
that every student benefits.
3. As a Board Member, I would improve budget
management. We need to better use our tax dollars by
allocating the money for the proper purpose...

4. Being an advocate in Austin is very important and I
would fight for every dollar available. I feel strongly that the
Board Members, not just our administrators, need to go to
the politicians and lobby. The administrators need to be
able to focus on managing the schools.
5. Creative revenue enhancements are going to be vital
moving forward. I have many ideas on how we can
generate additional funds, other than taxes, for our
schools. For example, advertising in our sports venues,
selling naming rights to sports venues, establishing
estate/gift programs, and working with alumni to raise funds
through golf tournaments or other fundraisers.
